The diving was great, the food okay, the accommodations basic but clean. My complaint is that the dive shop replaced the battery in the transmitter for my dive computer, and it flooded on the next dive. They would not stand behind their work. Suunto ruled it unrepairable. My replacement cost was 600 dollars. Their only reply to my request for compensation was "I will talk to Luis (repair technician) Go for the diving, but do not let them repair your gear.

Sorry to hear about the flood.

Now, I know it is too late for this computer but I would recommend DEPP Gear Insurance or h2o insurance for your next one.

Also Aqualung is offering a $200 rebate on computers.

By the way, welcome to ScubaBoard and glad that you enjoyed the diving at FIBR!

The last time I went to FI there were a lot of low rent types in the crowd plus the DM on our boat was more interested in fixing moorings than providing a good dive experience. No more FI, now I stay in West End.

Install fresh bateries before going on a trip. Have your LDS tech show you how to do it and take the appropriate tools. When all fails carry tables or the wheel and know how to use them to keep on diving.

Yes, I agree with the fresh batteries. I asked my local shop to do this for me before the trip. The battery in the computer was changed, but they neglected to change the transmitter battery.

FI does not appear equipped to do repairs, however ask and they will take u over to the shop at coco view. They took me over in the morning and I was back in time for the first boat.
