There, I changed my avatar for you
:rofl3:That's a great one. Even I would use that one.

Now I'm kind of sorry I didn't plan more time in Oz because I realized afterwards, that I'm missing the Outback. I guess that means I'll just have to go back one day.

outback... we got one of those about 1 mile down the road if youre that desperate!!!!

but i gotta warn you... they make this thing called cheesey-fries and i gotta say, thats just for the tourist as we call our fries chips down here

but i can promise you koala's and kangaroos and emus about 10mins from where we live.... much much smaller than taronga zoo but you get to touch these creatures if you havent already seen them while youre in qld

Exactly the same as from my front door to Deadhorse. Is there much to see along the way? I have six days, sounds like a nice four day drive to me, round trip that is.

cairns to seven hills (where we live) is 2500klms - aboot 5000miles???

bearing in mind that fuel costs approx $1.30AUD per litre now and a V6 sedan would take approx 60ltrs and travel 500klms on that...... my head hurts - that ALOT of money of fuel when you could catch flights from cairns to bryon bay/ballana or brisbane
Qantas, Virgin Blue, and Jetstar Air Cheap Flights & Airfares - Webjet Travel Insurance - Webjet.com.au

oh, avoid jetstar if you can (or crapstar or deathstar as the locals call it) as you will be hit with a mim $50 fee for being over luggage limits

IF it was me..... i would get to byron bay (but school hols are aboot to start then so it might be exy) or South West Rocks. i suppose the problems with that is its either exy becuase of holidays about to start and all their diving is boat diving so it gets exy paying for multiple dives/multiple days also.

thats where fairy wins a bit as our diving is all shore diving down here (hope youre still walking every day fairy) so all we need is EARLY morning starts to get parking and tanks (except for the 1 day im trying to get you and hubby on a boat to see the grey nurse sharks) :D

Well, I do my cardio, bike and elliptical and walk occasionally but only outside as the treadmill seems to aggravate my knee. I also do my strength training. :D

I am getting so excited...and a bit nervous too. I double checked my flight info and see that the agent only gave me 2 hours to catch my flight in Los Angeles to Brisbane. I hope that's enough time. PLEASE.. flight leave NY on time and don't have any delays.

IT definitely should be a fun trip. My friend Elise and I are doing Sydney on the front end of the trip and the flights from Sydney to Cairns and back were $300RT on Virgin Blue.

2 hours? Fairy, you are really pushing it in an airport like LAX. I am connecting from Denver and gave myself 4.

Well, that's what the travel agent booked for me and I trusted him to know what he was doing.:11: I emailed Qantas and they said:

We have checked your booking and can advise that the minimum connection time required for flights in Los Angeles is one hour and thirty minutes and in Brisbane one hour. In addition the airport check-in staff in New York will be able to thru check both yourself and your luggage and issue all your boarding passes.

So I guess they're not too worried, but I'll be a nervous wreck.:rofl3:

What boat are you diving with?

....... In addition the airport check-in staff in New York will be able to thru check both yourself and your luggage and issue all your boarding passes. .......

this is what i was guessing, so you get your boarding pass ect at NY and all you have to do is get thur immigration ect as your luggage is already checked in

will keep everything crossed for you!

Woo Hoo !
.. we can finally get a report on how the Almity's really are .. Tripple Choco Muffens' and all ;)

:D

im sure she will find us as disfunctional as i suspect we are.... i might even make her do a dinner with my mum to prove it to her :lotsalove:

:D
