Being 5'11" and 300 lbs (at the present and dropping) 32 in inseam, 44 in waist, 54 in chest and shoulder that measure 28 in from shoulder to shoulder I to am frustrated by wetsuit fitting.

I started out by ordering a Hyperstretch 3x short. Fit me almost to a tee (little baggy under the arms and the kneepads were more like shin guards). Returned it and am now waiting on a 2x version of the same suit. The 2x micropreen (which I was told fit like the hyperstretch) was hard for me to zip up but after having on the hyperstretch there was no comparsion in the feel or stretch of the suit. Plan on putting a hooded vest over the Hyperstretch to get a little warmer when diving here in the great diving meca called the Plains states (great visibility if all you want to see is you hand 6 in. in front of your face but what are you going to do when the need calls?).

If I had know about LF beforehand I probally would of explored thier products (I like the color options!) and will visit them next time I get down their way.

I am placing an order with triple L. I have only heard great things.

Well I did find a LDS that can get a Henderson Hyperstretch in a 5x or have then custom fit for 15% over retail. But I was also told that because of the super flexibility, the suit may only last a couple years. Not sure if I want to shell out that kind of money that often.

Another LDS gave me the name of a place somewhat local that does custom suits. Will have to contact them in the near future.

I did not see any price lists on either the Triple-L or the Liquidfit sites...how much do these guys charge.

Thanks to everyone for their 2 cents!!!

I paid about $300 for my full suit from Liquid Fit. I've enjoyed my suit every time I wear it. The colors are outstanding and the workmanship is unbelievable. In life you can get a case of Old Milwakee or a case of Corona......very big difference.

Stay safe and enyoy the dive,
SWT

Old Milwaukee vs Corona....I can relate to that!!!

I have the same size issues as you do. I've done a lot of searching for sources.

The only off-the-rack sizes close I found were at Harvey's http://www.harveys-divesuits.com/.

Henderson "Hyperstrectch", as mentioned above, is good from all the reading on this board and they will alter to fit if you need to. Just outside my budget.

The other alternative is to go "custom" but, it really isn't as bad as you might think on cost.

I did buy a custom 7mm FJ/J from Aqua Flite at considerably less than Henderson and have been happy with their service and quality so far http://aquaflite.com/.

I just recently got a quote on a 3mm from Liquidfit. If the product is anything like the service in responding to my request for a quote, then they are pretty good on the custom side. There are certainly quite a number of positive threads on them http://www.liquidfit.com/.

There were a couple of good reviews on this board about Atlan http://www.atlaninc.com/.

As for Triple-L, you can't help being curious and cautious about the price but, there is plenty of comments on them in this board.

I'm not going to push anyone's product here. Just offering some sources to look at. As for FJ/J vs Jumpsuit w/hood, its a personal choice.

Good luck on your search.

Thanks Mack!!! Looks Like Harvey's has a dealer not too far from me. Finally someone who has distributors besides CA and FL.

From what I understand about Triple-L, these guys offer the basic neopreme which I think I would need roll around in talcum to slide in to.

Thanks again to everyone.

Been a while since we had a post here. Here is an update. The other day I dove using an Akona 4x 7 mil jumpsuit. It was perfect! I tried it as a rental but think I am going to purchase. The price for a new suit is $280. I can purchase the rental I used (which was only the 2nd time it got wet) for $199. Going to try and do a cash deal and have them throw in gloves and a hood.
