Since steering is accomplished witht he right hand, the right arm is always "up" and the shoulder/ upper bicep is the highest point.
When running the scooter my right arm is on a plane with the handle of the scooter and that is on a plane with my chest so that the prop wash is underneath me. My left hand is not only free to be raised with a forearm dump... but my left shoulder is easier to raise with the shoulder dump.

Not only that.

But having the dump on the left forearm allows you to dump both wing and suit in the same motion while horizontal.

DUI seems to move the valve slightly toward the bicep (front of upper arm) and this makes it very awkward for those who like to ascend horizontal.

Yes a forearm dump works much better.

Okay, my valve appears to be in the DUI location, which would account for why I have to roll sideways as far as I do.

Is it actually that much better on the forearm that it's worth moving? I have only one suit, Tri-laminate, and I'm not keen to make more holes in it, and patch it up. More potential spots for future leaks? What do you think?

What do you think?
1. You could just learn to live with it.

2. You could move it and patch the hole... not hard to do but you might want to have it done if you have doubts about your abilities in that regard.

3. Leave it there and add another valve on the forearm.

UP-
I scooter primarily in caves, my left hand is holding hte light, and must remain steady on the diver in front of me, so left forearm is not an option.

I kinda like option 3 - of course, as usual, it's the most expensive option, as I would have to buy another valve!

Gottcha. Do you ever run with the light held by your right thumb? How do you deal with holding the light steady and dumping gas from the wing?

I notice from pics on the WKPP site that G3 has a left shoulder dump.

G3 wears stock suits ( I beleive). I can only hold the light on the right thimb for very short periods of time (small hands), and besides, it is impossible to signal that way. Dumping the wings usually isnt a big issue, unless we are somewhere that has HUGE depth changes, as we are so loaded down with gear the wiings get inflated and stay that way.
