i usually do overnight at batangas...here's what i recall

1. accomodations (aircon) - P2000-2500/room/night
2. meals - P200/ meal x 4 = P800
3. tank refills - 125/tank x 4 dives = P500
4. dive boats - P600/dive including DM fees for a group of 6 (higher sharing if fewer divers on the boat)
5. and average number of dives you do - 3 to 4 (night + 2 or 3 day dives the next day)
6. and what type of dives (shallow, photography, deep, etc.) - deep, drift, photog, shallow
7. Gear : own
8. transportation cost for the weekend: own minivan (gas is shouldered by my company)
9. number of divers/companions in your group - usually 3 to 4

cost for an overnight trip usually totals around : P6,000 more or less ($118 approx)
pards, the P600 dive rate includes boat, dm and tank.

SCUBA Diving is as much of a passion as it is a sport......

only a small percentage of the scuba diving population considers it a passion bro and only a fraction of that percentage are Filipinos because of the prohibitive cost of diving that is why they will probably not say that its "priceless" and definitely cannot say "I don't care how much it cost". :)

To answers paolov's question

accomodations
P1350 (includes 3 meals)
Diving
P400 to P600 per dive (for 3 dives a day)
Transportation
P800 for gas (I think its P1000 now due to the oil price hike)
P200 for toll tickets

So, for P7,000 you get an overnight dive trip? At the current rate of P52.12/1 US DOLLAR, that means a trip costs (about) ~ $135 US. That is reasonable. The cost of rental gear might jump it a little bit...not much. That doesn't include a diveguide..... right?

What are the additional costs for PG? I have not seen the comparison to PG yet. What prices are you paying there?

ah oki. it's the wife who does the bill checks. like you do, i just pay :D

PG rates, the cost of a dive with dm/boat and tank is i think $22-28. apart from that accommodation and meals can be easily managed to match anilao rates.

as for the ferry, last march the group "chartered" a boat for transfers from leah beach to PG & back, total cost is P5,000. we shared the cost among 10 people (P500/head). much easier than going through batangas port.

I must do more dives in PG. So much cheaper.

P6,500-7,000/twin sharing in Anilao will get you -

Accommodations -
Friday (late check in-after 8pm) to Sunday 1pm
Aircon room

5 dives

5 meals starting with breakfast Saturday and ends lunch Sunday.

lots of mango shakes, lots of cokes and scalp massage from Bong (not Bongskee).

Now, why should I transfer to another resort? No reason.

Same reasons why I love staying in Anilao...particularly Aquaventure.

It does.

For reef diving, I'm hard pressed to see a reason too.
