clgsamson:
you forgot to mention...informal advertisement/exposure to a bigger forum

i need not mention that as the original entitiy is aware of that exposure and see the value of that. not only that, the cost of that advertising would be minimal as PPD would be paying if not at cost. so technically the exposure would be free !

after some time i will have off topic post in this thread removed.

original entity yes, but not who you're replying to...

All cost: WHO CARES!?!??!
SCUBA Diving: PRICELESS

I care. Since I haven't done both and am curious as to how much a standard day trip to either places would cost.

SCUBA Diving is as much of a passion as it is a sport......who cares what it costs? Package deals for PPD'ers are not going to affect what we charge our EURO, AMERICAN, or our other country customers. We live in a country where mean income is not much more than $1 per day (or something ridiculous like that)....see what I mean?

Diving is addicting but it's expensive, and I DEFINITELY care on how much it costs. We are in the Philippines and we do not work in the States where we earn dollars. $25 per dive would sound cheap for foreigners, but that when converted here is expensive.

Most local divers cannot afford to dive with that price. 500 - 600/boat dive, sounds reasonable enough, anything more than a thousand bucks is way over my league.

Ah, now I get the intent. Okay, I gotcha. We do have "special" deals. Now I understand.

i usually do overnight at batangas...here's what i recall

1. accomodations (aircon) - P2000-2500/room/night
2. meals - P200/ meal x 4 = P800
3. tank refills - 125/tank x 4 dives = P500
4. dive boats - P600/dive including DM fees for a group of 6 (higher sharing if fewer divers on the boat)
5. and average number of dives you do - 3 to 4 (night + 2 or 3 day dives the next day)
6. and what type of dives (shallow, photography, deep, etc.) - deep, drift, photog, shallow
7. Gear : own
8. transportation cost for the weekend: own minivan (gas is shouldered by my company)
9. number of divers/companions in your group - usually 3 to 4

cost for an overnight trip usually totals around : P6,000 more or less ($118 approx)

How much is roundtrip fuel (a normal gas burning car) from Manila to Batangas/Anilao?
