equipment question- want to get involved with caves/wrecks

Dont rush through courses, they all sound great at first but you can weed out several as your experience grows. You could go diving, in a weekend, with a bunch of buddies (who are experienced) for the cost of gases and cover more than the PADI courses. Thats not a good idea for everything but for stuff like mild drift diving or night diving its cheaper and probably just as good as the classes PADI offers on the subject.

Keeping with a hogarthian setup will be rewarding in the end, less is more as the diving gets more advanced.
