any help will be greatly greatly appreciated!!

You need to see your Ear doctor before you get wet again, girl!

Does your Inst know about this? S/he needs to know!

I'll ask a Mod to move this to the Dive Medicine forum. :D

thanks texan!!

You're welcome :)

How about changing the title to "No Eardrum" to set it aside from the common ear threads? :D

I added "No Eardrum" to the title so people will know this thread is different.

Even though this one is different I am going to give you my standard link for ears and diving. It is an excellent streaming video lecture and will give you something to do and another source of information while you wait to see your Dr.

Go to;
http://faculty.washington.edu/ekay/index.html
Look for,
"Streaming Video Lecture
"The Diver's Ear - Under Pressure""

Good luck.

Based on the description, the nature and extent of the anatomical abormality is not clear. As such, any advice received must be considered as very tentative. This having been said, based on what appears to be the case infection may be a bigger worry than equalization.

In any event, the situation needs to be discussed with an ENT before any in-water training.

You or your physician can contact DAN at 919-684-2948 (Monday through Friday, 9am to 5pm EST) or email at http://www.diversalertnetwork.org/c...asp?RE=Medicine

Best of luck and let me know how it goes.
