EPDM rubber bands as a replacement for bicycle inner tube

I have an Apeks harness that uses elastic bands to hold the light heads, that is the slickest solution I have seen but have no idea were to source replacements.

One thing I want to try is using bungee loops women use for hair. They have many sizes and colors (for Tracy) at the Dollar Store. Hey for $1 and no shipping it is worth a try.
