...was in Orlando for a company meeting and wondered what to do with short free time! Wasn't free until 3:00pm... but arranged to dive the Living Seas exhibit with the Disney dive crew! What a great afternoon... :)

..started with a 'behind the scenes tour' and explanation of the daily fish care routines and dive orientation. Everything was done first class, down to the locker rooms and hot showers. We only had 6 total divers (including the Epcot folks) in the 6 million gallon salt water exhibit.

Interacting with the kids (of ALL ages) on the 'dry side of the glass' was the most fun! If you get the chance, check it out. Total experience about 3 hours, 40 minute dive.

Worth the $140 bucks (Epcot diver video'd the experience, got tape and a DiveQuest T-shirt).

Reservations can be made by calling Disney (407) WDW-TOUR or (407) 939-8687. www.disneyclubs.com/epcot/divequest.htm

and yes, I got the video and T-shirt too. I have to admit that I did the dive about 4 years ago and it is still one of my favorites.

the info and welcome to scubaboard. Since you live in LaGrange, will we get to dive with you at Falling Rock?

Another Kentuckian in this damn forum....it's like you people want this to be your own special little place on the web :HAHAHA:

Anyway, welcome to the board, and unfortunately, jbd and ckharlan are travelling north this weekend....something about a diving trip in the straits and wrecks...ckharlan66 mentioned something about kool-aid being brought along....

As for getting that 15 bucks from the "honey-do" allowance...just ask how many pairs of showes she has....then how many clothes she has that she hasn't worn in the last 24 months....if nothing else you'll be kicked out of the house for a few hours :D

...is better left to the professionals! :D

I just hope she doesn't think that I smiled  even a little bit when I read your advice.

Glad I found this forum. - Looks like a good place for diving chatter and other important family matters.

That was as clean as it gets...:D

Anyway, good to have you on board...one day my wife will realize there is no such thing as a 'retirement' account....just a temporary SCUBA funds account...he he he...

If you don't have kids yet, get all the toys before you have the kids...it is much harder to afford them (the toys people) later.

If you don't have kids yet, get all the toys before you have the kids..

Got one! A pretty neat 16 year old son (ex-dive buddy - surgery resulted in deafness in one ear) who actually helps me negotiate the toys.
My wife tolerates my need to get wet, although she doesn't understand the tranquility (how's that for the forum word-for-the-day?) I'll survive - I have re-committed to 'getting wet' much more often this year even if it is confined to the oceans of Kentucky.

I have re-committed to 'getting wet'

I'll just let that one slide....still a newbie....he he he :tease:
