I discussed this idea w/ an advanced SCUBA buddy and he highly suggested against it (for someone with my experience). The nasty current from NW -> MR is one issue. The 80' depth at one point is one issue. The intense physical this requires is one issue.
Considering the current, wouldn't the other way around be much easier? Although I am not sure there is much point to it...

Yes but you are right that it is pointless cos' Norman's Cove is where local police love to tow cars.

The scooter idea is cool. Hm... tempting.

i am a "young buck"...and just dunno if I would feel comfortable swimming it...with scooters it might be good...but make sure that the burn time on them doesn't die half way through...because realistically you should be able to swim any distance that you expect to scooter...or bring along a backup scooter.

Thanx for heads up about towing. I know some people (me included) that risk the ticket at some Cape Ann sites (cause it's only $15.) But getting your car towed would be unpleasant.

I've personally seen our little 'buck' poop out!

And it's not like it's a cave! I think you would be scooter-ing along the shore. You could probably survive with the backup scooter...

:D

Please stop giving advice about topics you know nothing about....scooters being one of them.
