Has any one SCUBA-dove all the way from Magnolia Rocks to Norman's Woe? How long did it take & would you recommend it for an average diver? Any dangerous obstacles that I should be aware of?

I love Norman's Woe but hate its trail & lack of parking spaces.

Thanks in advance.

Did a dive at Magnolia a couple of weeks ago with Lord123. During dive 2, a current kicked up that was borderline dangerous. I had to kick at about 90% just to keep my ground. It was blowing in the opposite direction of Norman's. Maybe you could ride it home...

Now if you dive over to Norman's Woe.....then what are you going to do...just paddle all the way back after? Hmmmmmm

yea...that current was MEAN....all the worst parts of the bible ya know?

Let me guess, it was probably 2 hours after high tide. right?

It is probably a mile from Magnolia Rocks to Norman's Woe. probably you can stay very close to shore, say 10-15 feet, then you won't get lost. but how fast can you swim underwater? can you swim 2 miles within an hour?

cast...it was about 2 hours after hightide...man it sucked...

Very good points, guys & gals.

I discussed this idea w/ an advanced SCUBA buddy and he highly suggested against it (for someone with my experience). The nasty current from NW -> MR is one issue. The 80' depth at one point is one issue. The intense physical this requires is one issue.

He said that if I have dry suit, dual tanks, military fins, Nitrox, etc., then this is indeed a good idea. Oh well..... I'm still learning. Thanks.
