I really enjoyed the Encyclopedia as I went through the DM course. Lots of good info in there.
If you are looking to expand your library, I would also recommend the TDI "Complete Encyclopedia of Diving Terminology." It is written more as a book-sized dictionary. Not really an advertisement like the PADI encyclopedia.
I'm not knocking the PADI encyclopedia. But, I think these two complement each other well.
