Hi, Was wondering if anyone has come across or is using a good electronic dive log that is downloadable from the net and isn't shareware (i.e won't expire in 30 days)?
I've got over 1500 dives floating around in various log books, it would be very handy (for occupational diving certification purposes) to have my dives in electronic format so i can print them when needed.
Can anyone help?
thanks

That sounds like a lot more work than I'm ever willing to do :)

If you have a Palm OS handheld I suggest you check out:

http://www.aquadivelog.org/divelog.html

It's an open source project so it is therefore free. Rock solid wonderful program, I love it. The documentation has the steps to upload your log into your PC, but I haven't had a need or tried it. If you don't have a Palm I suggest giving it a try anyway. There is an emulator for Windows CE devices listed on the page and a Palm OS Emulator for PC/Mac/Unix at bottom of the page.

I ran a search for electronic dive logs some time back and there are a few now that are compatable with several computer manufacterers so you can download your computer right into the software.

Sorry I don't have the links handy, just crawled from one computer shell into another this week. Lots of stuff hasn't followed yet...

Hey also look at (in my opinion) one of the better dive program for a palm based unit. It is full featured, will calculate your PGs based on whatever org you prefer (SSI,PADI, etc.) is hi-res color and most important bug free. I'm not the programer or have any affiliation with him, don't even know him but I have been very pleased with the program so far and you can try it out for free. If you like it it's $20 for the registration code.
