We are just entering the colder months of the "winterless north" of New Zealand and I'm suffering already! It is a very personal issue.

How cold is your cold? Do you have Wind with high seas during your winter (our summer) down there?

Temperatures (same region as Poor Knights if you're considering a visit):

The South Pacific is a volatile and unpredictable ocean. We can have high wind and seas at any time of year which is what makes it so much fun :(

You are a "Jacket" on all year country it seems :)

Not quite. Those numbers are averages and we hit highs of mid-high twenties for most of the summer and beyond. Sun is something else though. You can feel yourself burning even if you feel cold!

We decided to cancel our Dahab trip this year. We will be going to Bonaire instead. Drones, Eilat, Rafah, its all too much for us now. Hoping that next year will be calmer on the Sinai.

It might be ok on the Hurghada side, but that's not were we go.

It was business as usual in Sharm a couple of weeks ago. Absolutely nothing unusual going on. Drones aren’t targeting Egypt.

It not that Egypt is getting targeted. It's the close proximity. One drone crashed into the mountains near Dahab. Another was shot down near there. Eilat is periodically getting attacked by the Houthi's. Dahab is just down the road from Eilat. Now the latest with Rafah. We drove from Dahab to Cairo in two buses last year. Security going up there and under the Suez Canal was extremely tight. I cannot image what it is like now.

Each to their own level of risk I suppose. I'm going back out to Sharm in July and probably again in Sept - with no qualms.

Sharm next week and very much looking forward to it!
