Spoon:i am looking at my friends pioneer now, no blue stripes. are these on the new pioneers?
PerroneFord:Didn't mean to imply you *can't* use it, just that the Pioneer wings are designed not to NEED one, whereas the Eclipse one does need one.
Why are you using the STA?? Weight?

Since I'm in the market, isn't it possible to retrofit the slower "H" inflator on a DR Venture (which I liked when I tried one in FLL last month) or an Oxycheq Signature wing? Can you just do the inflator or do you have to change out the corrugated hose as well?kidspot:I have the same little problem as Jason B - The Halcyon tank band slots don't line up with my DiveRite plate - so I too use an sta even though the pioneer has it built in. I switched from a Dive Rite Venture wing (which I also really like) but the halcyon inflator is so much slower and more precise - that is the major benefit for me.

I have the 27# pioneer - no blue blue stripe, but much thinner profile than the Venture, which has a double bag design like the Eclipse wing does. Definitely a sleeker design, I just don't know if it makes much of a difference in the water, but it packs up a lot smaller for travelling.
