Yes Sir. The straps go all around and through "spine" and also through the BP.

It's actually cool in that it holds the tank closer and some people find that single tank valve drills are easier because of this.

excellent, thank you

(i know my project for tonight)

Real bad picture but this is it:

Just want to mention....
when I bought my Pioneer 36, I was planning on not using a STA. Unforunately my Dive Rite BP cam band slots are way off from the Halcyon wing slots so I had to go with a STA. So make sure your wing is compatible with your BP.

H2Andy:
to be honest, i can't figure out just from looking at it how the Pioneer doesn't need an sta

Heres a pic of the back if it helps, Andy

On edit : Sorry missed the other picture

Older Pioneers don't have the plastic rods along the spine.

Also, the plastic rods don't seem to help with all backplates. For instance, the ridge on my AUL backplate seems slightly narrower than my Halcyon backplate, so the plastic rods don't provide the same support.

I hope it's just you Andy, or that you have an old model Pioneer. The website says the new ones don't need STAs. http://www.halcyon.net/mc/harness.shtml
At least I hope that's what I read. I don't want to have to wait another 3 weeks to try this thing. I should have it in my greedy mits today.

ah, ok.... i have an older Pioneer, that's all

The Pioneer 27 lbs doesn't have the blue track, only the bigger 36 lbs and 45 lbs have the track for the extra air expansion :eyebrow:
