I generally eat shortly after a deco dive (I'm usually hungry). What makes you think your stomach would be contracted after a deco dive causing digestive problems?

As humorous as this is to see here, it might get more helpful *snort* responses in the Diving Medicine forum.

I see no problem with it. I have experienced no problem with it. I know of nobody who experienced a problem with it.

My thoughts are that it would be an absurd and bizarre concern for a technical diver to have.

do you eat straight after a deco dive?

Generally, no. But that's a boat/travel/schedule factor.

my thourghts are due to the stomach contractinng to start digestion.

I've seen no medical or dive-related publication which indicated such a problem could exist. From what source are you extrapolating this concern? Do share...

my post was deleted, but it was a serious response. i do go for a bacon sandwich after a dive

I don't have a problem eating after a dive but I definitely watch out on the before. I have had indigestion from eating before a dive. Burping during a dive just tastes bad. Also having to go #2 and being 2 hours from the surface is a miserable experience.

I hate they deleted some of the posts there were some good ones.

Okay, mocking responses aside, can the OP explain what he means by "stomach contraction"?

It's possible he means 'tonic contraction', which works in combination with the peristaltic wave to cause gastrointestinal motility.

I see no impact on this from technical diving however...

I hope the OP was inspired by thoughts about blood flow and potential affects on perfusion and offgassing after the dive...but I kinda doubt it.
