Ascent rates - normoxic Trimix on OC

I have read that CCR divers need a slower ascent rate than open circuit divers. What's your opinion?

I have read Shearwater have arrows indicating fast ascents past 9 metres per minute. What's your opinion?

I think this is more of a skill thing than a "need" thing.

I believe your arguing between planned and actual. Actually achieving 30fpm between stops seems difficult once you calculate in starting and stopping the ascent it probably ends up more like 10fpm.

Personally these days I'll sit a couple feet under the stop and start inching up as the ceiling approaches the next stop. Team protocol trumps any personal preferences though.
