I just got rid of SUUNTO dive computers as buttons are reallly hard to press to operate. Plus battery issue.
But now I’m considering Mares Puck or other basic with nitrox dive computer. I don’t dive tech, nor need a tank transmitter.
Just wondering if there is a computer that isn’t hard as on thumbs like the Suunto is?

One option - ScubaPro G2

Really great computer, comfortable/durable buttons, the 3 button interface makes it very wasy to navigate, nice UI, all the “tech” features, can save pictures (like dive site maps)

Only con (in my eyes as a user/main computer): the Buhlmann algo on it is a bit … well not standard — so matching deco with team needs some getting used to/ knowledge on how to interpret GF choices to the propitiatory MB level adjustments

I would not ditch mine, and wouod use it as a backup for Shearwater rebreather monitors (I know it’s out of OPs scope, just trying to make a case for how much I “trust” my G2)

As a rec/NDL computer it’s really great — but maybe a but in the pricier end

Look at the Ratio iX3M 2 Pro. It's a large full color screen dive computer that only has Air ,Nitrox & Gauge modes, and you have the option to add air integration at a later date.

Since you don’t need a tech-capable DC, you have a lot of options.

My Shearwater has been great so I’d be inclined to go with either their Peregrine (forearm) or Tern (wrist) if I needed a recreational DC. Both are offered in a non-AI model and Shearwater has a very useful, detailed dive log application for phone, tablet and PC.

If you want an economical but fully capable option, I really like my Deep 6 Gear Excursion DC (wrist). It’s been bombproof and battery life is excellent. For a dive log application, I think it may interface now with Subsurface.

i like my deep6 regs and so this is top of my list. I just wish i could try the dang buttons first, because I truly hated SUUNTO novo for this reason alone!

I use a Suunto Eon Core and the buttons are big and beautiful! Easy to press and besides the lovely slim and big screen rectangular form factor its a plus point for me.

Hail Suuunnnntooo! :acclaim:

I'm also a fan of the Shearwater models as they have few (but large) buttons and a big screen.
