I'm a Fish!
Good morning, bubble fans,
I'm considering the purchase of a new E-119.
Any of you have any experience with this tank?
Would love to hear the pro's and con's thereof . . .

Everyone convinced me not to get them as they're too short to trim out properly.

Someone else on the board likened the 119's to the not so cute girl you hit up on prom night then dumped, whereas the 130's are the prom queen who loves you forever.

Thanks for the advice. I'm considering HP steel tanks as well. I was considering the E-119 but will look at the 130 more closely.

Thanks!!

To short? Kind of depends on who is using them. All my tanks are 24 inches tall.
I have a 72, 80 and 95. The standard AL80 is longer then I'd like.

I said the same thing and I still want to try them.

I have a line on some 95's for cheap and I think I'll buy them.

Course, if all of my past experiences are an indication, my nickel rocketry will get me again and I'll end up with some 130s and selling the 95's for a loss :p

I'm 5'10 and about 175.
I trim out nicely with 130's. (singles or doubles)
I haven't tried a 119 single.
I didn't notice a difference in trim when I borrowed a freinds 119 doubles

I guess that really doesn't help does it?
My thinking often goes "more is better". I like my 130's.

Ah yes, some dimensions may be in order . . .
I'm 5'7" and 160#

I'm 5'6" and about 190 lbs. Have a Faber 95 and a pair of E8-119's as singles. The Faber is still marginally my favorite due to the 119's being a bit heavier, but I really like having plenty of gas and the 119 covers that one nicely. Both types balance well, plus it's nice to be able to sit down and gear-up.

Biggest issue is getting a good fill. Many shops won't take the time to fill the 119's slow/let'em cool then top off to full pressure (usually end up like 2600-2800 PSI), and likewise I have trouble getting a full 2640 in the Faber (usually end up about 2300).

130's and 119's are both hard to find - spent several months looking before I found mine (a 4-hour drive away).

Hope this helps!

Tom

I just picked up a couple of new PST E-80's for swimming up in the mud puddle up north. Want something that will help me take advantage of the extended bottom times of Nitrox.

I was in a quandry whether to go the 119 or 130 route.
