I used to like the comfo bites, now they irritate the roof of my mouth, I used to like the generic long bite ones as sold by DGX but they now irritate my lower bottom right gum as that's where the reg pulls down slightly.

I now use Atomic mouth pieces and although at first didn't feel as secure, was used to using hardly any bite force, they now are my mouthpiece of choice. Thanks @Rusty Shackleford

Have you tried one of these?

Twin-Bite Mouthpiece (6 Colors) | Dive Gear Express®

I have a bunch of them and I have 4 Atomic regs with the stock mouthpieces that came on them.

I cannot tell any difference between the actual Atomic ones and the ones from DGX.

I'm also like the comfo-bite however, I like to get a new one every few months.

Several reasons why, I tend to grind my teeth under normal conditions, so I chew the tabs almost off. That is probably the main reason but also just a the brush head on a tooth brush I feel I' better off replacing it regularly.
I get the generic ones from dive gear express, get them by the dozen actually.

Like someone wrote above, different people would like different types, I just wouldn't have "durable" as the main requirement, that's just me

I use these on almost all my regs:

Twin-Bite Mouthpiece (6 Colors) | Dive Gear Express®

At $4 each, they are cheap. As far as I can tell, they are identical to the mouthpieces that came stock on my Atomic regs. I have some of these that I have been using for a few years now and they still look like new (i.e. I have never bitten through one). I find them VERY comfortable.

I have an Aqualung Comfo-bite on my CCR right now. I used it for 2 hours on Saturday. I don't like it just because it feels too small for my mouth. It does not extend very far back down the sides of my mouth and makes me feel like I'm holding it in with just my front teeth. I'll be ditching it before my next dive.
Trade? I have several of those Atomic type, really don’t like them.

If you want the C-B, PM me your address. You can have it. I'll just mail it to you.

standard, just chineese design, I had changed all of my mouthpieces to that: Tec Dive Mouthpiece

it has thick pins and your jaws stay little opened, and anyway you keep it strongly. It take out forces from you jaw muscles, and you do not need clench yout teeth.
- never met more comfortable mouthpiece.
Also it has nice to the feel surface, not greasy as jellyfish :)

I will get them on the way soon Simon. I had a medical incident and am home bound till tomorrow afternoon. I learned what the word Vasovagal means the hard way and got an unplanned nap at work the other day.

No worries at all Mike. You just take care of yourself.
