picked up a din reg (conshelf 21 or 22) and it came with the yoke conversion...but it looks like i need a "collar" or retainer bolt to hold the yoke conversion on...do i have that right? and if so, where can i get one? thanks all.

Did it come with an adapter or a conversion kit?

It would just screw into an adapter. A conversion kit would need to be installed by someone familiar with servicing that regulator.

Do you happen to have a picture?

Yep you do need a nut to hold the yoke on usually. Which first stage is it for sure? You need to get a copy of the service manual for that reg from www.frogkick.dk - / and look up the specific stage.

Just downloaded the spare parts manual and the Conshelf first stages use a retaining ring that snaps in to hold the yoke on. The DIN adapter assembly is funky looking! If I had it here or pics maybe it would make more sense than the drawing. I only have an SEA 1st stage handy and it's very different from the Conshelf. Go the site just noted and download the 2001 spare parts manual. Everything you need to know is in the first 10 pages or so.

Disclaimer in case you kill yourself- This not an advisement to service the reg yourself. It is merely for informational purposes. Service should be performed by a competent tech.

I can't see if it has the yoke nut in the yoke but there are only 3 pieces to the yoke - the yoke itself, the knob and the yoke nut. Installing it yourself is no problem at all. Unscrew the din off the main body, put the yoke nut into the yoke and screw it on to the main body finger tight. Tighten it snugg with a wrench and you are done (there is no need to crank it down). I have several old Conshelfs but no DINs. If you need the yoke nut I will trade you a yoke and nut for the DIN.

Unless the reg is in need of a rebuild, there is no need for a service kit. None of the internal parts are touched if all you are doing is installing a yoke and there are no Orings involved.

If it is a true Conshelf yoke, it should be threaded on the inside. There is no collar or nut to hold in place. There is a snap ring that prevents you from unscrewing the yoke, but it is not necessary. The yoke should not come unscrewed by itself… you have to deliberately unscrew it.

i will take a better look at it again.

Yes, that is a Conshelf yoke.

You just have to put a wrench on the flats (below the knurled wheel) of the DIN adapter and unscrew the DIN adapter. It comes out as one unit. Then just screw on the yoke must of the way down and you’re done.

The yoke doesn’t have to be screw all the way down. When you mount it on a valve the yoke screw will not let it turn.

If you feel more comfortable with the snap ring, any Aqua Lung dealer can get you one. It should only be a few dollars. But, you don't really need it.

If you don’t want the DIN adapter you can sell it to Herman.

What was I thinking Luis, of course the Conshelf has a threaded yoke......Ahh, the old, early ones had the yoke/nut combo....Too many old regs around. :)
