i know that chlorine and neoprene dont mix, but what abt trilam, or specifically the 50/50. what would this suit be like for pool instructing, does the chlorine deteriorate the suit materials the same as neo? maybe worse?

First of all, the damage that is done to neoprene suits in chlorine happens after YEARS of constant pool use. It isn't something that happens overnight. And since one does not constantly wear a drysuit in the pool, it's pretty much a non-issue.

Even if you are a PADI Instructor teaching the drysuit specialty, I'd like to remind you that confined water training for the course does not necessarily have to be in a pool. It can be in any body of water having pool-like conditions: a deep & shallow end, excellent vis, and no current or waves.

I routinely do the confined water sessions for drysuits in non-pool confined water. That way the student is actually using the proper undergarments, hoods, etc., without overheating like they would in a pool.
