Brand is less important than features and fit. Fit above all. Do you want field replaceable seals, metal or plastic zipper, front zip, back zip, etc. There are plenty of good brands, at range of prices. Whatever you consider make sure it's a great fit.
They all seem to offer all the extras. Any idea why some are almost double the price but seem similar on paper?

Fit, being MTM, material, craftsmanship.
It seems like the Deep6 compared to the Bare Xmission seems very similar with the x-mission at almost double the price fully loaded. Very unusual.

@OsirisPan

A very popular brand on this forum is seaskin:

I havent had one of their suits, but I think they will be my next one

Some people did report some quality issues with them, but I think its by far the most reviewed suit on this forum so I attribute it to the larger reporting sample size. Plus the issues werent too bad

If you order it to a friend in Seattle (so you only have to pay ~5% import tax instead of 20-30% Canadian bullsh1t) then it will be waaay cheaper than anything you looked at. Sub 2k cad I think

I would dig around this forum so you get an opinion about the brand even if you don't end up buying from them (so at least you did your research)

I think im leaning towards a seaskin honestly. Ive done a fair bit of research but concerned about the fact I will have to send to UK for warranty stuff. I guess I can always just pay for repairs and stuff here if needed. Also the 14 week wait is a long time.

Yes to the UK for the warranty for SeaSkin.. but I think? you can also purchase a DRIS warranty for it as well. Even without a warranty, DRIS will definitely service it. You'd still have to send it across a border, but not across an ocean.

As you started the thread talking about made to measure, Seaskin suits tend to be cut very generously compared to DUI et al.

Marketing?

Don't buy something you can't try on or look at with friends who use it. You'll get a better idea of what to expect.

To be honest, all the issues I read about them were always minor and could be solved by the end user with access to youtube and some aquaseal

And for major things, I can't imagine they will cost more than what you saved (1-2k?) on the suit to begin with

Whilst length remains the same it's certainly not when you're in the third or fourth trimester of you existence

So get a move on
