Ok all you all year dry suit divers...

I got a Trilam suit a few months back.

What do you wear under your suits around here in the summer months?

Nothing? ;)

Actually, if the water temp is above 55, I just wear some lightweight polypro and that's it. If it's warmer than 65, I'm in my 3mm wetsuit, unless the weather is cool.. then I wear lightweight polypro ;)

If it's between 45 and 55, I'll wear a lightweight fleece layer.. below 45 a heavyweight fleece layer.

Depends how deep. For me.....200 softwear to the low 50's
300 softwear to the 40's
Weezle extreme plus lower that that.

Same thing I wear year round. I just get in the water faster. & out of the suit faster once out of the water.

When I dive my Trilam suit, I wear a 300g Polarfleec underneath it year round (water temps up here at depth usually dont get above 50-55). For colder water (less than 45) I will add a Polypro top and bottom. I have been thinking about getting a fleece vest for really cold water (less than 40).

I think fleece is the best way to go.

Same 200 year round and add or remove polypro underneath the undersuit depending on the temp.

I like that original reply. Nothing! That sounds about right.

LUBOLD8431 - Do you mean top and bottom as in shirt and pants or as in a top and bottom layer? I have a 300g Polarfleec garment too. When it's really cold I wear a polypro layer underneath. I think I need to get one of those vests for next winter too, though. That Saturday back in January was really cold. But after reading your post I'm thinking maybe just put another layer of polypro over my garment.

I just can't imagine walking down to the water at Dutch, in a drysuit when it's in the high 80s in the middle of the summer! I'm still thinking I'll break out my 7mm for the summer. I figure either way I'll sweat my ass off before I get in, but I'll be just a little cooler in the 7mm, and I think the 7mm will be a litte more comfortable when I'm getting out after my dive.

Maybe I just need to bring both to one of those first weekends and dive both suits?

has anyone tried under armour.
they make a cold gear and a heat gear version.
looks like they'd be perfect for under fleece or in the summer.

they generally go fo $50 top and $50 bottoms.
although cabelas new spring cat. has the heat gear for $35/$40.

L. L. Bean offers three different weights of polypro. It's high quality and inexpensive. When I went ice diving, I wore their mid-weight as a base layer, then a layer of sylvester's old army polypro (awesome!), topped off by 300g fleece. It was the most comfortable I've ever been in the water.

I figure that as it gets warmer, I'll lose the army mid-layer, and, if it ever gets warm enough, I'll either switch to lighter weight polypro, or just ditch the fleece in favor of sweats. Frankly, I really don't want to spend the money on getting 200g or 100g fleece.

The Underarmor looks like really nice stuff - if I need lighter weight polypro I might go with them, since L. L. Bean's is all designed for the winter.
