Easiest way is to squat down as far as you can, and step on the tip of the cath...then stand up quickly.

*Note* Don't do this in the shower.

Why am I having flashbacks of the dog stuck to the porch in Joe Dirt? Looks like time for a cold one and something good on the tv (ok maybe more than a cold one).

:ajax::ajax::ajax:<--maybe this will take it off?

Works for rusted bolts.

At the risk of being serious for the poor guy with his junk stuck in a cath and weak at heart to take a deep breath and rip it off...

I usually shower the night BEFORE I put my cath on. It let's me manscape (hair in those things are murder too!!) and gives my body a little bit of time to collect a bit of oil on my package. A freshly showered staff will be stuck in a cath for days. If you let the oil build up overnight I find it's only mildly painful to rip it off after a day of diving. :D

The OP was from July 1st. I really hope this dude has the cath off by now

@merxlin
Weenie roast anyone?

The bottle of isopropyl alcohol that you use to flush out your p-valve - use it to squirt a little alcohol on the traffic tie-up and it'll slide right off.

Hey, I had the same issue my "first time". There are several skin prep products that are wiped on or painted on prior to application of the catheter. I spoke with the place I got the catheters today as a matter of fact. It is actually an adhesive/sealant. Ask at your med supply shop and describe the issue, they will go "oh yeah, try this".

Alcohol dissolves the glue, plus, leaves you feeling minty-fresh and ready to take on the world.
