This weekend I began to understand loft principals in my dry gloves.
Inside my drygloves were thick fleece gloves. As soon as I began handling objects, particularly my goodman handle, my hand immediately got cold. After switching hands the other warmed up and the other cold. I assume its becase there was a compression of the fleece and loft was lost. Now, I've had it with trilam drysuits and attempts at keeping loft so I'm in neoprene (and quite happy). My question is, how do folks fend off "loft loss" in dry gloves when holding a goodman handle? Thanks.

Metal is also a much better conductor of heat than water. Aluminium, for example, conducts just below 4000 times faster than water; for comparison, water conducts approx. 20 faster that air. I don't use drygloves or a goodman handle so I'm just guessing.
