There are also references to "alcohol thinning the blood" "which helps the nitrogen to come out faster" and the term "deco beer" or "deco drinks" used in some the alcohol threads. Which would almost lead you to believe that it's an accepted practice amongst dive-professionals.

Or alcoholics that dive:D

That would be true of most of the dive proffessionals that I know:rofl3: :rofl3:

Zundac3, if you fill out your profile, it would help us to know who you are and maybe we could help answer your questions better. ie. how many dives, where you live etc.
I can't believe Dandy missed this:wink:

LOL shell. How would my profile be germane to a question about alcohol?

I've seen that exact response cut-n-pasted after other thread questions in which the person's profile also had no impact on a good concise answer.
IMHO, it's neither helpful nor answered the question at hand.

However, to indulge you. I have over 300 dives and live on Oahu.
(And, have been sober for over 300 dives too, but now want to get wet)

If you are a newer diver, you may get a straight answer. If you are a dive master, you would probably get more of a smart alec remark. Just a thought.......

Pretty country. I lived across from Kapiolani park for several years:D

Although I don't have any data to back this up, if you are diving within your limits and are hydrating properly, you SHOULD be fine.

I've been diving a lot the past year and a half and have had a drink most evenings except when doing tech courses. Since I dive mostly in resort areas, I see many, many divers having drinks after diving. In fact one place I go, they have 2 floating bars and we have dropped off divers there when heading in from the last dive of the day.

As the Pirate says, know when to say when. Please don't drink and drive.
