Lava core for sure.

I learned by experience, double wetsuits are a pain. I dove a 3mil shorty under a 3mil jump suite. I lost mobility and was no where close to a 7mil.

A core warmer (chicken vest) is totally different. The ones with a built in hood are good at reducing flow from your neck and zipper and don't mess with your mobility. The price is right too.

I tried two full length wetsuits and froze. Got a drysuit and never looked back. Might be worth it to check around for used drysuits and learn how to repair them. My first one was $400 US and came with undergarments. I got over 300 dives out of that suit.
