Well, I can't say much about officialdom, but as long as you're here and you appear to have screen printing knowledge, might I pick your brain?whatever came of this did you guys pick a logo?

For screen printing, do the colors need to be flat? If so, I suppose I should create a flat-color logo, with the colors minimized. Basically I'd just make the blue D, blue fin stuff, and blue mask all the same shade of flat blue. The mask lens and snorkel would be the same shade of flat pink. The smiley would be flat yellow, and the orange D would be flat orange. Obviously, the black parts would be black. That would get it down to five flat colors: blue, pink, yellow, orange, and black.
Could pink and yellow be "dithered" to make an orange-like shade? That would reduce it by a color, if the savings are significant enough to make it desirable. (This is assuming it's a custom color process and not standard colors as in offset printing.)
Anyway, just figured I'd attempt to find enlightenment, since I'm fairly certain you know more than I do about it. (Or at least, *someone* knows more than I. :biggrin
I am a self professed lousy graphic artist. I think the Dork Divers Network needs a truly cool logo.
I welcome any and all suggestions . The top designs will be posted in a poll (if I can figure out how to do that) and will be available online and on apparel.
You can post your designs here in this thread.
There WILL be prizes!
Thanks!
