Hey all GLWC Divers,
Not sure if you seen the review on this local authors book in www.wreckdivingmag.com
the books name : Door Peninsula Shipwrecks, Images of America.and is available from www.arcadiapublishing.com or other book stores.
My wife had a copy set out for me as I arrived at our Door County retreat and I found it to be a Great read with lots of photos and details covering the ships and crew and details of the standing's and sinking's and speculations. This book is not a dive guide with inaccurate GPS no#s! As its more a trip back in time and a great book to add to your library if your a diver or not.
I found by reading it that a dive spot I have frequented for years had another wreck nearby! Washington Islands Washington Harbor The "Pride" and I never did know it was sunk near by untill I read this book.
Then latter that day I had a chance to meet the author Jon Paul Van Harpen as he lives near by in Sturgeon Bay,WI. and we had a chance to go over shipwrecks from the Florida Keys to the Great Lakes.
just thought I would pass it on,
Dive safe
Brad
