I 'll give you guys an update on Sunday when i arrive in Sogod.

We got goose-egged AND has a terrible experience with the resort. We were bumped off the resort and after traveling 5 hours by plane and 3 hours by car got nothing but attitude about the bump from SBR. They had a room for us but it wasn't as nice and not on the resort but it was the same price Not happy. Will say more in my trip report but honestly can't recommend staying with Sogod Bay Resort. We ended up diving and spending all of our money with Pete's and they were great.:mooner: Found much better accommodations as well in a private house that had just been refurbished.
There have been sightings of the elusive beasts by fisherman in the Bay - even while we were there - and one actually got caught up in a net but luckily all was well and they set it free (at least that's the rumor anyway). But no luck for us.
One thing I noticed with Pete's and not sure if it's the same with SBR but there is no place on the boats at Pete's for spotters to get high enough above the water line to see if there is a whaleshark in the vicinity. You almost have to be on top of it in order to see it.
Anyway, I wish you guys luck! TIP - try to convince the staff at the Moose and the Squirrel to turn off the Karaoke machine cause they have BIG, CHEAP, San Miguels but if someone is crooning and you're still sober - it's a struggle to not flee

actual that happened with me as well. Well actually another SB member (The Hammerhead) stole my room (got there first) as my transfer from Cebu got delayed and I got stuck in the room down the road :mooner:.
As for spotters, weren't they using the local folks in the mini bangkas?

So did you actually go out looking for the WS or did the resort tell you there were none around. ?
Do boats go out every day for the WS dive?
