SCUBAJENNIFER:
I read somewhere last night that is cost like $250,000...I wonder what else could have been done with that kind of money. That doesn't include the lake and the ginormous amount of lighting.

Exactly . . . Build giant scary Jesus statue - or - help provide food, shelter, clothing, etc. to residence in the community that need it. Lets go with the statue. It's what God would want....:shakehead

It does make for some good laughs though. :D

As a Christian, I often find myself very frustrated with the Evangelical community (of which I'm a member) for this exact sin. There are certainly many better ways that money could have been spent to glorify God. I certainly don't think you would have seen Jesus out building a statue to himself in front of his home. He was too busy healing the sick, feeding the hungry and preaching good news to the poor. Gee, what a novel idea!

Just my 2.5 cents. Hope I didn't offend anyone. Just had to comment.

Hey John!! Long time no see!

A friend of mine showed me that link a couple weeks ago, and I immediately knew where it was. That thing has always scared me. :rofl3:

Jennifer;

Yeah, I've been really busy. Scuba kind of took a back seat for the last part of last year. Of course, now I really have got the itch to dive, but just can't see diving wet in 43 degree water (smile). Guess it is time to invest in that dry suit. My brother invited me to Florida to do some diving...now if I can only get away...

As soon as things warm up, we'll see you in the water.

John

***Disclaimer*** This was totally meant to be a funny thread, didn't mean to bring the tone down by telling how much was wasted on "Cheesus"
