Doug B:
I don't, however, see the need to use a computer (ie: burn up battery - which takes a $19 replacement battery and o-ring kit)

You are paying a bit much for those batteries, see many sources such as http://www.batterybob.com/product.asp?intProdID=552903&gclid=CN_h4aano40CFRK1YgodJGpr5g

Also, chances are that you don't need an o-ring kit. I have a different Oceanic computer, but my LDS said I didn't need to replace the o-ring, and I never have. Just clean, inspect, and lube very very slightly, whenever you have to replace the battery.

when I'm diving in three to seven feet of water in my backyard pool, for 40 minutes, while a running the vacuum hose around the bottom picking up dirt.

I hadn't thought about it, but this will make cleaning my pool a lot more fun!!!!:eyebrow:

I can't wait to get certified.....

Yeah, a $4 battery so that must be a $15 o-ring. I wonder if Leisurepro also voids their warrenty if you use a generic $.50 o-ring?

I guess you could go with a generic o-ring and save the OEM one to stick back in if it ever needs warrenty service.

Hi,
I don't want to make waves or start any trouble and am only adding the following as a point of information. Hopefully it will not be taken as a slam as that is not my intent.
O-rings come in lots of different sizes, thicknesses and durometers. Using the wrong one could cause more grief than using the correct one.

I would either decide that the old o-ring is okay, or buy the new one from the manufacturer. Yes, it should be a 50 cent part, but it's not worth my time to investigate the exact size and durometer, find a source, etc. It's not like I need one ever year, or even every three years.
