The apollo bioseals work well. Note that they were designed for neoprene seals and the material degrades latex so wash the seal after using. I used one for 1 year with no obvious damage to my latex seal.

They cost around 50-70 bucks and my understanding is that they are one size fit all, or at least S, M, L sized.

There been a few threads on them in the past.

Cheers,
Rohan.

I had a slightly oversized neck seal on a drysuit that I purchased second-hand.

It leaked when looking up or turning my head.

I made a 2" wide 1/8" thick neoprene neck band to wear over the neck seal.

No more leaks. And warmer, too. Minimal cost, if you can find a shop that will sell a small amount of 1/8" neoprene.

Thanks all,
DUI is in San Diego, since I live there, I just had them take care of the sizing there. Both the bioseal and and using a neoprene cover may work. Heck sounds like a good use for one of my old wetsuits, trimming a piece off a leg might work. If not I'll get the bioseal. And if that doesn't work, I may have to give that glue thing a shot :)
Thanks again all, I knew someone would know this.

Since you live right in San Diego why don't you just go back to DUI and explain your problem. You paid top dollar for a quality dry suit that was measured by the manufacturer. They should stand behind their measurements.

Why should you spend money for an Apollo Bio-Seal (regardless of how well they work) when the dry suit should fit properly from day one.

Randy43068:
use silicone seal to glue the thing to his neck............ ;)

That's very bad advice, that stuff takes forever to dry, next thing you will be telling them to use Aqua Seal. Everyone knows you have to use that new fast dry construction adhesive. :)

Hello all,
My Bioseal has arrived, and it is not what I expected. Has anyone used one before? There are no instructions. Do I need to lube one side etc, it appears that if I just pull it on it will stick to itself. Looking for guidance for first time use.

The problem with my leaking is not the dui suit neck seal but rather the shape of my neck (deep U shape in back).

Thanks,

I'm going to assume that you've driven over to DUI with your suit and explained what is going on? Don't go to the dive shop, go to DUI and talk to them; they will be more than willing to help you address the problem.

I know, I know.... bioseals are a bit like an awful snot booger in texture.
The neck seal slides on and the sticky-er side sets out so that the original neck seal lays flat against it.
Do take heed- you will need to put it back in the jar it comes in and keep it well cared for and clean. It shouldn't need to be lubed up... :)
Also- bioseals can eat through latex quickly, so keep an eye on your neck seal for cracks and small rips after a few months.

Also- for people out there that are slightly reactive and allergic to latex, the bioseal can help create a more comfortable barrier seal if you refuse to have neoprene seals.
Good times.
