Absolutely right, Hank. I can't say I learned anything useful in college, although I did go back full-time when I was 38. But I would not have gotten the job I have now without it. That was a prerequisite for an interview.

Congrats to Almight1! It is no small feat to work full-time and still manage to get your degree. I hope it opens many doors for him!

we actually hoping for redundancy so he can become a scuba bum! :D
 
First, congratulations to him for sticking it out and finishing. Outstanding.
Second, if he can use the degree to improve the quality of life for you both, even better.
 
Let's see... with two advanced degrees I knew more and more about less and less. After getting my PhD I was told I would eventually know everything about nothing. So I turned from my highly specialized field and became a generalist once again, trying to learn as much as my poor little pea brain could about as many different things as possible.
