Do wetsuits stretch out over time?

I have my 1st wet suit, a custom job made in 1978. That thing shrunk like you wouldn't believe. I couldn't get it on with a tub of lard & a jack hammer...
 
Although my wetsuits tend to "shrink" over time (it couldn't be my increasing bioprene!), the holes that develop allow both the water to enter in and accommodate for any "shrinkage."

If it is uncomfortable enough now, definitely look for another.
