Do Padi Diving Society membership renewals notices ever stop?

When I paid the membership fee (I have not been a member for several years now), I did so because I enjoyed flipping through the Sport Diver magazine. Otherwise, you get nothing useful for the membership (as a rec diver anyway).

I've been getting those in the mail for years - every time I call PADI to tell them I'm not interested in their stupid corporate "Diving Society Membership" they promise to stop sending them. But they never do stop...

I just shred them now and don't bother a second thought.

I used to donate to a childrens charity. The amount of junk I used to get telling me where my money was going and what I had bought, Free pens, pictures of kids in a new class room and general junk was probably worth the same as I was donating. Now I just cut out the middle man and give the cash direct. When I'm in a good mood.

the "free sports bag" is tiny and not well made - i haven't renewed mine - but i think the magazine might be avail to purchase as an E-Mag stand alone. Otherwise i don't think i'll renew mine either. I like my other card better that says AOW on it

If it's plain bulk rate mail it doesn't go back to sender no matter what you write on it - PO tosses it.

Try www.catalogchoice.org - it's free and seems to be pretty effective, and PADI Diving Society is listed. I've eliminated most of my junk mail between this and the DMA things.

I once joined their membership to check out the magazine and to stop the requests for me to join. Less than two weeks after I joined I got a notice to early renew my membership. Not even a month! They sent one every couple weeks for the entire membership. I didn't renew, now I get one every few months.

It was YEARS and countless phone calls before finally getting rid of Readers Digest. They just kept sending it monthly along with the bills.
