I'm curious, I heard that Dive Rite has a new Regulator called the RG2000, but I haven't heard many comments about their regs.
I heard they're equivalent to ScubaPro and Apeks in performance, especially breating effort at depth, but how can they be, they are actually affordable?

The answers to your two questions in the thread title are
"Yes" and "Yes"
I skipped the poll

Somebody told me that the first stage of the DiveRite's was made by Apeks.

But then....I have no confirmation of the comment.
It was made by someone selling them to me, when I mentioned I was considering Apeks.

The first stage is made by Apeks, the second is made by oceanic (it is the delta 2 with a different housing)

They perform as good as or better than SP and apeks.

They are used by cave divers, I know of 4 cavedivers that dive them including 2 cave instructors and 1 Padi course director/ shop owner.

They cost less than other regs that are equal to them.

and lastly your poll is screwed up, there is no option to say that they are as good as they are. Infact it reads a little one sided.

Are you absolutely sure about that it looks to me like they are getting one of the Apeks-like 1sts made by one of the big far eastern generic reg houses like http://www.odusa.net/ODUSATaiwanHome.htm and mating it with a 2nd from that or another supplier. Another oddity they have a blanced 2nd now that looks just like the unbalanced one but Oceanic doesn't make any such reg so it seems odd Oceanic would be making them a reg better than anything the sell themselves.

And why would AL after cutting off Zeagle from buying Apeks turn around and sell them to Dive Rite especially so cheap that they could undercut them?

Even if you are right about the source one has to question the statement that they breathe better than SP or Apeks the D3 is an OK reg but not the equal of the better SPs and in the few tests I've seen the DR didn't perform very well not even as good as a D3.

They should do comparisons with Dive Rite regs and all the other companies, especially since this is suppose to be a good, reliable reg. Wouldn't other people want to know what they are buying?
