Wahoo! Member since 2003 and, at last, my first post, lol!

I'm heading to Cebu in June for 5 weeks, and am looking to finally do my dive master course. I have a house to stay at in either Lapu-Lapu or Moalboal, but from what I've gathered Moalboal is more of the place for diving. Can anyone recommend a good dive shop there? I've been looking at Neptune or Savedra, has anyone been diving with either? Ideally I'd like a dive shop that will not only offer a great education, but hopefully friendly people to hang out with too (I'll be traveling alone). Is there any nightlife in Moalboal? No crazy raves or big discos :D just something to do in the evening after a day of diving... Chill and laid back is more my style!

Thanks in advance, looking forward to your replies!
Allison

PS - Any chance of seeing a mighty whaleshark around this time?

Both diveshops are pretty good - PADI 5 star. I dove with Savedra before and they've got a pretty good operation.

Lapu-Lapu - mediocre diving - great nightlife
Moalboal - good diving - no nightlife

Hope this helps.

Hi Enrique,
Thanks for the info, I appreciate it :)

If I were to pick anywhere in the Philippeans to do my DM, where would you recommend? Is Puerto Galera the most popular? Thanks again!

puerto galera is the most popular. it never runs out of divers taking the DM course. and theres a lot of choices there (e.g. atlantis, asia divers, big apple, captngregg, mermaid to name the ones im familiar with)

I would have to agree with Maggie, on PG.
