Finally got wet this year on Fathers Day. Went out with our Venture Crew/Boy Scout Troop to a local dive quarry and had a great time! Viz was great, water temps were good. OK, 45 deg. f. at 50' was a little nippy but the water clarity more than made up for it. The Blue Gills are spawning right now so were VERY aggressive and were EVERY WHERE! Just a wonderful day all around for everyone. Can't wait for the next trip.:D

Sounds like a great experience. I just got some scouts through the pool part of their training. The boys were quite motivated. We have our quarry dives next month. If you want to spoil them take them to BSA Seabase in the Florida Keys. Do it in December or at Easter so they wont get to attached to the warm water

We sent a crew to Sea Base two years ago They had a blast! Unfortunately I was unable to go with them so missed out on some great diving. I hear you about the water temps. I am a little concerned that if I ever get to the Keys I will not want to dive locally ever again!:D Congrats and good luck with your group and their open water dives. I am sure they will love it.
