A Deepsea on bungee would be cool. Never seen that.

Exactly. There's not a bracelet on the market that fits over a drysuit. The diver's extension on bracelets are for wetsuits. If someone wants to wear a watch over a drysuit, they'll need to swap out to a very long rubber strap or an extra long NATO/Zulu.
tis true ... i have a deepsea (would NEVER go diving with it) I actually never checked to see if it would get over my cuff on my dry suit ( Bare) until tonight and there is no way it will fit over - even with the clasp fully open. I did take off to links but even still it would not fit.

Stick with a shearwater lol

I dig the Citizen. Never needs winding. Not too expensive. Easy read on my old eyes. Bezel dial. Good watch. I am a believer in stand alone analog gear and simple but, good accessories. Put money in your diving. My only computerized gear is my Inexpensive Puck. $165. Been diving since '79.

Hello. I got infatuated with scuba diving a couple of months. Still fresh (60 dives, Master diver, Deep diving and Science of Diving certified,...). I am also a big fan of watches and collect them. I have never been interested in Rolex. Too bulky or over rated for me. I buy things that I like not because I can resell them.
Now, for me, there is no real added value in having a diving watch compared to a diving computer. Even less when you wear two diving computers. Am I wrong? Then, the real question of this thread: is it worth buying a Rolex Submariner, the self called ultimate diver watch?

Wearing a watch is something that some of us do because we like watches and in the past where a needed tool for divers but now less so with computers. However, I still use my dive watch to mark time during my dive because the analog sweep of the minute hand does not need for me to compute in my brain a digital number and then do math, I can simply see the passing of time without need for numbers.

A Rolex is certainly not needed to dive with or even for fashion. And, some might tell you that the much less expensive, mechanical self winding Seiko SKX007 is the king of dive watches. Or a nice Citizen EcoDrive product of similar design. Omega, Marathon (SAR), Doxa are arguably every bit as good as a Rolex unless you just want to wave a Rolex about and then I might prefer the Omega to wave about. You will be really sad if either get's left on the bottom somewhere because what goes down may not always come back up.

The Seiko on the right has thousands of dives on it and it shows and still runs. The left is a reissue in Pepsi motif.

Indeed, NICE! The King of Dive Watches, many would agree, the SKX007 Automatic Diver's 200M:

Seiko and Citizen use in house movements, they are quality watches.

I think that is a Seiko 173… a version of the 007?

The 173 is a North America-canized version of the more ubiquitous 007/009. I am pretty sure none are currently produced any longer. And the value is going up noticeably for nice pieces. There are tons of custom parts available for the series.

It has been discussed in watch forums that North Americans no longer know how to wind a watch or to wear an Automatic. So complicated you know. Generally nowadays, you will not find anything but Quartz or maybe solar drives until you get in to higher end stuff. Of course, I have seen 007s now going over a $1,000 for nice ones. I think I paid $99 for mine in the day.

A few weeks ago after morning diving (Bonaire) I was laying out a few minutes to catch some rays and I took my 007 off. Then I could not find it. Looked everywhere and all over. I was in a panic! Then, I remember throwing an empty sunscreen bottle away and some other trash. Yep, it was in the trash can  . And ticking happily away! My wife took it from me and locked it in the safe for the duration. I had to make do with a silly Peregrine, yuk!

This isn’t really true. Seiko has been selling tons of their “5KX” watches, plus turtles, samurais, etc, all of them automatics. And that’s just from the Seiko 5 and Prospex catalogs, not to mention their Presage line and others.
