Yeah, but if they go there, they might have to get their Wicki Whacked! I've lived here 40 years and so far have avoided that... and this will be the last year for Luau Larrys as they are losing their lease in the fall.

It's so. Three businesses in that stretch will lose their leases due to expansion and modification of the Pavilion Lodge.

That's horrible! Sure that Avalon doesn't go the way of Fisherman's Wharf, where they've built up the hotels so much that there's almost nothing else left.

Long-term plans do call for a retail center a block inland from the bay... but long-term plans here on Catalina tend to exceed a person's lifetime (and that can be a good thing).

By the way, I hope we haven't totally dissuaded the OP from trying to come!

Maybe I'll see your divers at El Galleon's karaoke Sat night, Kyaa! I'll be the one NOT singing.

My little group (3 of us) actually went over the El Galleon to check out the karoke Sat night, but alas it starts at 9 and we had to catch our 9:15 ferry. I looked around for you at the Casino when 2 of us were diving there at about 3:30 or so.
