Diving this weekend (9.18.04)

We are suppose to go to the Key's this weekend but I am not sure that is going to pan out. I am trying to make a backup plan.

I am in Central Florida, what do you all think would be a good dive this weekend? We are really new divers so nothing that is to tough.

It might be a bit choppy this weekend due to storm surge. You might want to call a few operators down in the Keys to see what conditions are like before making the drive. In Miami, for instance, it was terrible this weekend. Not a place for novice (or even experienced) divers.

I'd suggest calling Silent World or Island Ventures, both of which are located in Key Largo. The dive shop at John Pennekamp Park is also a great resource.

should be much improved by this weekend. The latest NWS marine forecast calls for 2-3's at the reef by this Friday, and 2's on Saturday. Visibility remains to be seen . I'll post dive conditions as soon as we can get back out there.
