As far as I know, diving at Nubble isn't allowed until November.

I recently posted a similar question, so check the archives here for the specific date that someone nicely posted, but which is well past acceptable for us wetsuit folks.

W WINDS 15 TO 20 KT WITH GUSTS UP TO 30 KT. SEAS 3 TO 5 FT.

I'm going nuts too. New boat, new GPS, new fishfinder. ARGHHHHH!!!!! Looks like mid week is going to be my next chance. I swear I will go out into Quinsigamond if this gets much worse.

I am unfortunately pulling the boat for the season this weekend. I decided on Sunday considering everything I have to do in addition to trying to get some dives in. I will try to find a sheltered spot and a mooring but we'll see. I already can't wait for mid-April when the boat returns to the mooring. It has been cold for a good three weeks now (above water).

Per "the rules" there is no SCUBA diving allowed at Nubble, on a Sunday, until November. Can you say "lake"? :dazzler1:

I'd also like to add that unless the wind is coming directly from the north, NL is diveable under almost all conditions. The island does a fine job of sheltering the dive site from an east or south wind. The vis might not be good, and it might be gale force up on the parking lot, but you can dive Nubble most of the time. My last dive of 2003 was @ Nubble at 8:00PM on 31-Dec-2003. The wind was howling in the lot but the water was nice.

I am at least partially washed out for this weekend so I feel your pain! I was supposed to be doing a charter both saturday and sunday to some wrecks here in RI. The dive shop called me and cancelled both days! On the bright side, I still plan to try and do some shore diving instead so it isn't a total loss.

Since this August I am 0 for 5 on charter attempts. Luckily it has gone much better with my shore diving luck. I have managed to get at least one dive every week for the past 5 months. So I guess I can't complain too much. :eyebrow:

and I'm about to. Off to Lake Quinsigamond in about 30 minutes. Last time I was there I found a car. Who knows, maybe I'll find bugs this time. I will at least be able to take the boat for a spin. .....sigh.... :(

I would think that diving in Quinsig is like diving into pee soup (notice the spellilng). With sewerage runoffs from Belmont Hill, it could make for some high bacteria levels. I know that you probably have a better handle on what the real deal is there though.
