Hi all,

When will the "diving season" end in Central Texas? I am planning to get my first set of gear but I am not sure should I take now or wait until next year when weather getting warmer?

Thanks.
RJ

There is no such thing as "dive season"
The Circle of Diving never ends...... We dive all year long here
Rain or Shine ~ Day or Night ~ Winter ~ Spring ~ Summer ~ Fall

Even some of the people who wear panties dive all year long :D

It totally depends on your temperature comfort range.

If you are ready to spend the money now, spend it.

Tom has a Cat Fur Lined Wetsuit and stays warm though out the year

Don't tell PETA about that thing or they'll be after you !

You could dive all year long with no more than a 3mm wetsuit but your choices get a little limited for about 5 months there. Go to a 5mm with a hooded vest and maybe a little added chemical heat and many summer sites at still divable.

You mean like Vodka or Rum ? :eyebrow:
That does help afterwords for sure !

TexDiveGuy probably remembers that one day
"The 9 amish " told us about plain old hot water and that works too.

Yep, we dive year-round too. I have several dive partners who dive in the winter at Lake Travis and we volunteer at Aquarena Springs as well. Make a dive or two, then grill some steaks. Makes for a pretty nice day regardless of the weather or water temp.

This is better than hot water. http://quantumheat.net/5_x_9_heat_pack_1.html

It will last 30 to 40 minutes but it will burn if placed directly against bare skin.
