Drewdude - That sounds pretty intense... I'm hoping that the waters will be relatively calm when I go... not sure I'm at a level where being swept around by big currents won't cause me to panic.

Puffergirl -don't worry - Blue Corner is not in the Similan Islands.. although you can get some nice currents at some dive sites, buy hey - you'l be doing your Advanced Open Water course, so it's nice to have some slightly more advanced diving.
