I currently have reservations to dive with Key Largo Dive Center, but the forecast for Tuesday and Wednesday is not looking very promising. We have family in Tampa, so diving there would be an alternative.

What's the diving there like at this time of the year? The Clearwater weather station is reporting 71F for the water temperature, I'm fine with that, but what about currents and visibility?

And, any recommendations for an operator? I know tanks-a-lot gets good reviews here, but they are closed this week. We do have our own gear, but we'll need tanks and weights.

Thanks!

I flew to Tampa a few months ago because my niece had bought a new house about 30 miles south of there in Ruskin. I dove the Gulf nearby and wasn't impressed at all. The water was clear and warm but there wasn't much to see. I will not waste my time again. I did dive the Oriskany off of Orange Beach, AL and that was worth the trip, fer shure.
