Diving in Bali....what's the deal?

Hi Big Waves, I too have just returned from Bali and really impressed. I stayed at a resort in Nusa Dua, not a backpackers but there are heaps of accommodation options and the cost is quite low. We went with Bali Masters Scuba Divers (Nusa Dua) http://www.baliscubamasters.com/index.html and the guys were great (particularly Made Rockyana). Took us on three trips- Manta Point,& Crystal Bay- diving with 30 BIG mantas is unbelievable; Tulamben, unfortunately a big surf made entry and exit a pain (literally) but the wreck was - wow & 30 mtr vis!; and finally Sakenan on Lembongan where we did two great drifts. I too have heard that Aquamarine are brilliant and package accom if needed. I read the following in local Oz dive mag- 8 nights 5-star accom, 16 Dives (10 boat, 6 shore), all gear, transfers, brekkies and lunches for $1500 AUD. That's less than $1300 USD

The diving is worth the long drive/ride. The moderate currents really change the dive scenery on a hourly basis.

Anyone tried WaterWorx Dive Centre before?

I think I'm going to go with Waterworx. I'm staying in Ubud and Waterworx is in Padangbai - not too much of a drive from Ubud and it also seems like a good base to get out to Nusa Penida. Would be good to hear some more reports on them though.

my favorite dive centers in bali are BaliScuba, Waterworxx and Ditschi Scuba.

waterworxx has a good reputation -

I usually dive with gekodive, who are just next door and I never had to complain; good professional operation - they also have many community projects.
